Thanks for visiting! I’ve worked on a couple organic vegetable farms and always wanted a quick reference for any bugs that I would discover. I couldn’t find anything that I would use so I created this website. I’m in the process of adding features and illustrating more bugs. Please let me know what you think.

Great web site! I shared a link to your website at http://www.wildlifegardeners.org. I first saw your post on the Survivial forum.
Thanks glad you find it useful!
I’ll try to put this to good use imemdiately.
Impressive!
I have not gone through it all as yet; but I would include the hornworm under the pests of tomatoes.
I think hornworm would be a great addition. Thanks for the comment.
Can you contact me? I’m writing a small piece on gardening apps for Popular Mechanics (on a short deadline, naturally), and looking for one more to add to the mix. Would love to know more about your plans to expand and build the app.
All best,

Thanks for commenting Fiona. My plan is to have a pretty major update(v3.0) by February. Twice as many bugs and a filter similar to the one on the website.
cool pics and a great prize too. You showed a weed app that I checked out, but I now I can’t find it. Is it published yet?
Thanks Jeavonna! Not yet most likely be finished with it in Feb.
Bugs are AWESOME … and I love how your APP helps me know the good from the bad! Happy to follow your blog as well as on Twitter. #gardenchat
Looks like a great app and helpful information! I’ve seen a few of those in my garden and I’m thinking the kids would dig the app too. Looking forward to checking it out. Chris
Beautiful work. As a trained biologist I find things like this an incredibly great addition to my gardening experience. You’ve highlighted the fun thing about pests… learning how amazing they are. Then comes the hard part, figuring out how to move them out using organic methods and doing the work.
Your app sounds like a useful and fun tool to use in the garden. I’m sure a lot of gardeners would love using it… I know I would! Also, following you on Twitter for updates.
Thanks for commenting and following
Great app! Are you developing more garden apps? Love to see more of them. Good garden apps are hard to find…
Thanks Cristina! I am currently working on updating the bug app and working on a weed ID app.
I this is a great venture. Identification and information at your fingertips is such a priceless commodity.
Looking forward to the 2012 season!

Justin – I would be very interested in helping you with this website/app, and any others. I am an expert on insects and other arthropods and have created content for other websites. Learned of this site via Facebook, by the way, as one of my friends “shared” it. Keep up the good work!
Glad to read this blog! Keep it going!
What a great tool for us gardeners. I’ll be sharing the link to your amazing site for all my gardening friends on my blog http://www.OurGardenGate.com.

Only a smiling visitant here to share the love (:, btw outstanding layout.
Hi Justin – I think I emailed you in December regarding the availability of our school farm land, so this email is just a follow-up to see if you are still interested. We are returning to school this week after a 24 day holiday break, so I am just now getting back into the swing of things and follow-up with interested farmers. The farm land is still available. Our primary garden coordinator and 6th grade teacher at Candy Lane is Keely Rock. She and I would like to meet with interested parties in the next two weeks to discuss possible plans you have for the land. We are VERY open to ideas at this point, i.e., CSA, growing for restaurants, growing for farmer’s markets, etc.. We just ask that whoever works the land uses organic, sustainable practices.
If you are interested in meeting, please feel free to email and we can set up an appointment with you. Our best times are M-F between 2:40 and 3:10 or possibly a weekend slot.
Thank you Justin. Look forward to hearing from you.
